Custom Necklace
>> Tuesday, September 1, 2009
I recently completed a custom necklace for a person in New York. She had a piece of fabric that was sentimental to her and wanted someone to make her a necklace using her scrap of fabric. I started brainstorming and came up with what you see above. I suggested embroidery as well, and she was excited at the idea. We came up with red for the embroidery as it went well with the black and cream.
I will be offering these on etsy soon, fabric can be supplied by you or you can let me know what color you like and i can create your necklace. You have a choice between the silver necklace as shown here or a black suede cord necklace. You also choose the embroidery initial and color of the initial. Beads can be added for an additional price.
I thought this idea was wonderful for sentimental fabrics such as an old blanket or piece of clothing that you wan to hold near and dear to your heart. Maybe a loved one passed away and you would like a scrap fabric of theirs to make into a custom necklace. This would also be great for a child's 18th birthday or graduation party, using scrap fabric from their childhood. The possibilities and ideas are endless.
I happy to create your treasured piece. Contact Fetitadulce22@gmail.com for any questions or ideas.

Oh this is great -- thank you!! "Maybe a loved one passed away and you would like a scrap fabric of theirs to make into a custom necklace." This is exactly what happened. My friend's name is Melanie and her husband's name was Marcus -- so the M works as a tribute for both of them -- and the canvas is from his signature shoes. Thanks again, I love it and can't wait to get it and surprise Melanie.
